Welcome back, and hello to those that are coming to our blog for the first time.
LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
The Ca' d'Zan is a fun place to shoot because there is so much rich architecture to play with from the terra cotta roof tops, to the rich glazed window panes. Heather and I have spent the day trying to capture every angle of this building.
There is so much richness and warmth that this building exudes. Mabel Ringling took Inspiration from Venice's Ducal Palace, Ca' d'Oro and the Grunwald Hotel. They used the beautiful Sarasota Bay as their Grand Canal.
With the Ca' d'Zan being on the water of Sarasota Bay there are endless possibilities to catch awesome storm clouds rolling in, something Heather and I are looking to bring to you later, with the possibility of lightning captures. Can't Wait to become a Storm chaser LOL.
Mabel also loved her flowers, here are some of the Chrysanthemums that are on the grounds. I have a guilty pleasure, I like to take pictures of flowers LOL! I love the smile you can get from the simple beauty of a flower. I have a challenge for you. Bring someone a flower everyday for a week and see how that makes them smile, because you have brought a little light to their day and they know that someone cares enough to bring them a little joy to their day. Let me know how it turns out. I bet you their happiness makes you feel like a flower stretching to meet the sun.
I leave you with my favorite flower in Mabel's Rose Garden. I call it the Yellow Rose of Texas,
Shes's the sweetest Rose of color this soldier ever knew. Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew. ~ Bobby Horton ~
It was a rainy day when Heather and I were at the Ca' d'Zan and I most skipped shooting the rose garden. I'm glad I manned up and shot in the rain. I remember standing there for like 5 minutes going what what angle do i use. I said i'll get them all lol. Then I was able to get this beautiful flower with the rain drops on it, and so here is my flower that I present to you and I hope it brings a smile to your face like it does mine.
Leave me a comment on what you would like to see us shoot in the future, and we will try to accommodate.
